A peak inside the spectrum studio of Kitty Joseph and her cosmic patterns, pleating and inspirations. Her new season plastic purses are winging their way over to stockists in Japan - here she is holding one as a preview. Catch last season's clutches here before they go.

Monday 13th June: Christopher Ræburn SS17
The galactic closing of the MCM show could have been a cliff-hanger to the opening of Christopher Ræburn's own show "Launch" inspired by the "Race for Space". For SS17 his signature workwear style is referencing space-wear with over-sized pockets and straps in a fire / water resistant fabric called Nomex. The sci-fi white paper fabric Tyvek provides the lighter weight pieces (see top pic here) layered with mesh and accessorised with rocket back-packs. One small step for man and one giant leap for mankind.............. came in the form of a footwear collaboration with Clarks on astronaut utilitarian trooper sole sandals.

Sunday 12th June: LCM SS17 Christopher Shannon
Perfect material for a Sunday night post ............ Christopher Shannon's SS17 vibe is "party's over, reality check, back-to-work Monday morning, inspired by a disaffection with fashion's current reliance on self referencing and a desire to get back to focusing on the design and fabrication of garments"............ denim in three washes of indigo blue, seamed together in contrast on one garment or separate panels fastened with rivet buttons. Entitled "Provincial Heartbreak" he subverted the Sports Direct branding turning it into "Lovers Direct" or "Haters Direct" in logos emblazoned across hemlines and the classic shopping tote. Judy Blame decorated lapels and necks with hessian pins, belt clips and necklaces whilst footwear was covered by a collaboration with Hi-Tec. Here are details from backstage and the invitation artwork which I always love and keep for an ongoing series.

Sunday June 12th: MCM X Christopher Ræburn SS17
For S/S 2017, Christopher Ræburn debuted a capsule sustainable textile collection for MCM in celebration of the luxury travel label’s 40th anniversary. The show's theme "made to move" was presented in this 360-degree digital screen which projected weather pattern film, flying around the circular space. It was totally cosmic, beginning with the collection's camo print and ending in a sonic solar system of stars. The Bavarian flag colour palette has been made from breakthrough technological fabrics as MCM has committed to becoming fully sustainable by 2020. In amongst all the speculation of change to the industry's seasonal schedule, that's the best news all week! Here's to the future............
Sunday 12th June: LCM SS17 Agi & Sam
Without fail, Agi & Sam always have the best makeup at the mens shows. This season their invite came as a tin of glitter hair gel and the grooming consisted of flower bouquets as blusher. Here is model Leo Anthonio backstage and on the runway by Agi & Sam's parents who are my favourite FROW.
