Tuesday 14th Feb: "Kick Over The Statues" by Ewen Spencer

 Ewen Spencer's project of capturing Notting Hill Carnival, which first premiered for Brighton's Photo Biennial is now showing in London at Hassell Gallery.  Here are some of the images alongside another study of the UK's youth subcultures in Liverpool.  
I'm so pleased that someone is documenting Carnival as it's a particular passion of mine.  It's something that needs recognising and celebrating more often.  So it's fantastic that such an important photographer of our time has chosen it as a focus to return each year.
