Thursday night was a jam packed time for launch parties with two that I managed to snap here - Brooke Candy after performing at Nicola Formichetti's DAZED party for his Diesel Tribute denim line ………. and Pam Hogg dj'ing at her club night at ACE Hotel in celebration of her new online shop (w/ Mark Moore, S-XPress).

Friday 8th November: Guest Post - Stanley Donwood at The Hang Up Gallery
Following on from their last exhibition of prints from Sir Peter Blake, Stoke Newington's Hang Up Gallery continues on the theme of iconic musical imagery with a presentation of works from Radiohead collaborator, Stanley Donwood.
The show features rare prints, etchings and one off pieces from the artist as well as original canvases from the Hail To The Thief series, from which the Radiohead album of the same name took it's inspiration. Donwood and Thom Yorke met at Exeter University and have been working on projects together ever since.
The Hang Up Gallery can be found at 56 Stoke Newington High St and the exhibition runs until 1st December.

Weds 6th NOV: Margot Bowman for LUCKY
Sharing a studio with the powerhouse creative that is Margot Bowman, I'm privy to the plethora of projects that she is multi-tasking at one time. Over the last two months she has dedicated any additional spare moment to this mammoth amount of motion graphics for her first animated music video. Firstly she illustrated the characters and backdrops with ink, which she then scanned in as flat single images to move and manipulate into this complete cartoon promo. The three members of the band LUCKY have been caricatured into the heroes of the narrative, who have lost their way in a future world inspired by the lyrics "Do you know what if feels like to not know who you are". I have been in ear-shot since the very first meeting thru to the final premiere, and its been a fascinating process to have witnessed each of the complex and detailed stages to compile and sync. No big PIXAR teams of animators here, just one dedicated and prolific Margot Bowman patiently applying her hyper-real world to a pop song.
