Tues 29th April: Incoming >>>>> The Hyères Festival 2014 via Emma Kidd
For the next few posts we will get an insight into The Hyères Festival 2014 via Emma Kidd (Selfridges) who has kindly sent me over her snaps from the three day Fashion and Photography showcase. Here is a selection of the location in France where Jean-Pierre Blanc (Director of Villa Noailles) first set up the festival in 1985. The event is an open competition for international artists to apply with the jury selected by each year's presidents - for 2014 Carol Lim & Humberto Leon have headed up the role with their own Kenzo exhibition ............

Monday 28th April: Zandra's Rainbow Penthouse
On Friday afternoon Zandra Rhodes openend the doors to her Bermondsey Rainbow Penthouse, situated above the Fashion & Textiles Museum. The event was a sample sale with family and friends Andrew Logan, Piers Atkinson and Kitty Joseph. Here is hat blogging maestro LaTouche wearing a lush Lock&Co. hat - and his photo of my rainbow outfit = see more of his photography and follow his hat exploits over on www.hatabouttown.com
Mon 28th April: Bishi's "Albion Voice"
Here are photos I took of Bishi performing her epic performance "Albion Voice" at KOKO which was so unique and pioneering with its choreographed visual effect background, that it totally blew me away. As the set list moved thru each song, Bishi transformed in different costume changes to interact with the graphics, ending with her playing an awesome sitar solo. The complete equation of this experience with its varied sequences is like nothing I have ever witnessed before. Bishi owns the stage with her signature multi-cultural reference tinged narrative lyrics, vocal style and witty banter in-between. Every sci-fi cosmic detail is mapped out to perfection with a shadow silhouette of her arm movements that optically make her appear as a multi-limbed Hindu goddess. Everyone has to go and see it!!!!

Friday 25th April: "Eye In The Sky" by Jim Stoten at Jaguar Shoes
"Eye In The Sky" by Jim Stoten at DreamBagsJaguarShoes focuses on flying creatures and machines via one unique illustration blown up and wall-papered on the walls, 360 degrees around of the space. Aeroplanes suspend from the ceiling with miniature versions to pick up, alongside holographic glasses to put on and view the images thru UV lighting to make the psychedelic sketches even more trippy! In conjunction with the exhibition there are costume making workshops and live music events - see more details here.

Friday 25th April: Lazy Oaf X Garfield
Last evening Lazy Oaf launched thier latest collection - a collaboration with Jim Davis' Garfield. I'm in love with the "Cats Can Swim" body suit which to all intents and purposes is usually a sexy slinky garm; but this one has a smarmy, cynical Garfield grimace across it - too cute! Rosy Nicholas headed up the set design of the installation having been on board to create the look book and film. Here she is wearing my other favourite item from the collection, the pink high-wasted trousers with a print of a Pharaoh style Garfield. It's ALL lush, go take a look over on the site which went live today.
Shout out to Breakfast Club for the complimentary cat themed cocktails - milky whisker-likin White Russians.
