Wednesday 8th October: "LORENZO VITTURI: DALSTON ANATOMY" at The Photographer's Gallery

In that strange way of fate hitting at unexpected times, I first discovered "Dalston Anatomy" in Amsterdam this time last year at FOAM Gallery.  I had to go to another country to find what I missed right under my nose, working from a studio in Dalston!  DOH!
Then when I curated my exhibition at KKOutlet in February I was so chuffed to be able to include the limited edition beautiful wax cotton bound book in the shop.  Lorenzo Vitturi went on to win the Hyeres photography prize and has now landed a solo show at London's Photographer's Gallery.   The set designer-turned-photographer has turned the gallery into an all-encompassing 3D exhibition with sculpture integrated with the prints of his still-life and portraits.  Its immediately stunning, joyful and triumphant ............ and it's only on until the 19th Oct so not one to be missed if you haven't been already!!  With the whirlwind gentrification of Dalston's highstreet this is a CRUCIAL piece of documentary work to celebrate the community's hub and heartbeat of Ridley Road Market which needs to be acknowledged and honoured more than ever before.
Find out more at the gallery's site here .

Tuesday 7th Oct: Paris Fashion Week - "London Loves Paris" Party

........... and to conclude my Paris Fashion Week coverage are party pics by Hannah Morgan of the closing shindig that Hunger Magazine hosted with London designers to celebrate another season.  In it's second incarnation, the night at Le Pop-Up du Label was devised by the 4 British brands  Yunus & Eliza, Holly Fulton, Noel Stewart and Atalanta Weller.  I played out some ridiculous club banger classics to keep the Hendrik's Gin fuelled fashion pack jumping til the early morning ............. some of which I have put into a playlist for Hunger here.
Thanks to Hannah for the photos ft. Top to Bottom:

Monday 6th October: Paris Fashion Week - SHOWstudio SHOWreel

To celebrate SHOWstudio's award win at the Milan Fashion Film Festival we spent an evening at Silencio for a screening in the special purpose-built cinema room at the back of the David Lynch designed club.  Here is their new SHOWreel edited from the archive of gems including selections of snippets by some of their most valued contributors.  Here are a few of the snaps I made whilst watching the programme of highlights from the site's pioneering fashion film which ended on the most recent project "Girl" which focused on the collections of over 30 London designers.   See this and more over on the site..................... Congratulations SHOWstudio !

Friday 3rd October: Paris Fashion Week - KENZO via Hannah Morgan Studio

It would seem that it's possible to experience fashion week to its full effect by simply following the fashion editors and FROW-sters via their Instagram.  As soon as a show starts your feed instantly fills up with the same shots from each guests various vantage points.  One such occasion during Paris Fashion week was the epic futuristic set design of the Kenzo presentation which had a massive influx of snaps on stylist's streams with these hyper-real LED screens.  Thanks to Hannah Morgan Studio for sharing her beautiful photos with us to see further detail such as the cosmic pastel pink and mirror foiled nails.

Thursday 2nd October: Paris Fashion Week - Keely Hunter

Following on from Kitty Joseph's collection showroom at Capsule in Paris, to our other Brit partner in crime - Keely Hunter.  Here are snaps from her stand at accessories destination "Premiere Classe" which is based just by the Louvre in the Tuileries Garden....... which explains our little impromptu photo shoot outside in the trees!   This season Keely has added to her architectural plastic signature style with some softer summer styles with these straw boaters, panamas and trilbies, trimmed with perspex bands.   If you wore this to a wedding it would certainly win the show!!!!!
See the whole collection "Tidal Frame" SS15 over at Keely's site here.
