Weds 19th October: Stance Street Art Run in Paris

So far the European Street-Art Run series has taken me on guided tours of London, Copenhagen and now Paris.  Here are snaps from the trip which ended up as an after-party at Favela Chic hosted by Charlie Dark, founder of RunDemCrew AND newly announced ambassador for Stance!

Tuesday 18th October: Book Launch at The V&A Museum

Thank you so much to the V&A Museum for hosting a launch for my book with a Q&A hosted by fashion historian Amber Butchart (who features in the book).  We talked thru the complete A-Z of my career to date and how the book came about from a culmination of all those experiences living in London.  Here is a snap of the work I did in collaboration with Lakwena at Carnival and how later on her mural became the backdrop for the book's cover.

Tuesday 18th October: Diwali Opening Ceremony

As the sun set over the new David Shrigley fourth plinth on Trafalgar Square, the lights of this year's Diwali Opening Ceremony took over the landmark, soundtracked by the Panjabi Hit Squad on stage.

Tuesday 11th October: Toghal at 1:54, Somerset House

"Her World On A Pedestal" seating for Armel Soyer Gallery at 1:54 Art Fair by Toghal Textiles with a specific commission collaboration of print inspired by traditional Kenyan khanga cloth with artist Phoebe Boswell 's 'Duniake' fabric & design by Ifeanyi Oganwu . 

Tuesday 11th October: 1:54 Contemporary African Art Fair & Malick Sidibé at Somerset House

Images from this year's 1:54 Contemporary African Art Fair at Somerset House alongside the new show till January "The Eye of Modern Mali" by Malick Sidibé  .  1:54 stands for the 54 separate countries that make up the 1 continent of Africa and the art fair's representation of the whole African Diaspora.  This can be seen in the installation of the courtyard by Trinidadian artist Zak Ove and my absolute favourite showcase by Emo De Medeiros who is based between France and Benin ( final 3 works above Zak's statues).  Galleries from all over the world exhibited photography, painting and 3D works across each wing of the vast palace galleries and Worldwide.FM were in residence broadcasting live, interviewing the artists.  Catch up on their podcasts here.
