Tues 8th March: The W Project - Sara El Dabi

More work-in-progress shots from an artist exhibiting in The W Project......... this time Sara El Dabi who has screen printed 6 posters in her trademark cut and paste humorous style. I'm particularly loving the Elizabeth Duke reference here!
If you ever picked up one of the first photo-copied flyers for WORK IT you may recognise this collage artwork as Sara is part of the crew behind the enterprise. They will be collectors items one day.......... along with their t-shirt line which is currently on "I Ain't Mad At Cha". Get it while you can!

Mon 7th March: On set of "Love From Alice" with Clare Shilland

To follow up from last week's review of "Love From Alice", Clare Shilland has sent me some atmospheric snaps from behind the scenes and on set of the shoot in Sweden. Here she is on location in Östra Lagnöis with stylist and collaborator Beth Fenton and chosen subject Alice. Read my original piece about the publication and exhibition here or go to see the show for yourself on Saville Row at bStore.

Follow Alice's blog here.

Mon 7th March: PFW with Thomas De Kluyver

After last week's insight into LFW via his makeup for Charlie Le Mindu and Kokon To Zai, Thomas now shares his work in backstage pics from Paris for the Steffie Christianens show styled by Lotta Volkova.

"For Steffie Christiaens we wanted a girl who was young, cool and fun but still very chic and sophisticated at the same time. On the eyes Mac Hi-Def Cyan painstick was used as a base and then 3 different colours of glitter were layered on top of each other to give a multi-dimensional finish. Cheeks were sculpted with MAC Sculpt Blush and highlighted with Pearl Cream Colour Base. Nars Dolce Vita lipstick was dabbed on the lips to give them a hint of colour."

Thomas's blog regularly gets filtered through the reader over on AnOther but to check in directly with his news, click here.

Mon 7th March: The W Project: Jo Glover

The third installment of work-in-progress shots prior to the installation of The W Project has been delivered in my inbox as detail images of embroidery from Graphic Designer Jo Glover. We'll all be setting up the show today so more shots to follow to give a clue what to expect from the artists amassed to celebrate National Women's Day.

Sun 6th March: The W Project: Anna Garforth

The W Project launches on Tues so for the next few days I will be featuring some of the talented ladies taking part in the exhibition curated to mark International Women's Day. First up is Anna Garforth who works with recycled and natural media to create sustainable artworks - in this case moss..........

"I am creating my piece on site, so I don't really have any work in progress shots, however I do have a view of my floor which is being inhabited by mossy mounds freshly foraged from the wilds of Hackney. I will be using them to create my piece."

To see more of her incredible lettering layered using leaves, quilled and rolled rubbish or newspaper origami heart graffiti to spread love onto the streets......... click Cross Hatchling

Sat 5th March: No Days Off

The genius graphic design team "No Days Off" who are responsible for the realisation of my printed matter have just re-jigged and re-launched their online portfolio. If you have a peek and poke around you can find images of their work for Pick Me Up, Pure Groove and Paloma Faith amongst exhibition identity for Tim Walker and Maison Martin Margiela or literature for Wolfgang Tillmans. The new look redesign features a blog to check in with their various visions (such as the tip off abut the Eduardo Paolozzi murals in Tottenham Court Road Tube Station). Its not all just visual either! As the designers behind many album covers, they also have music and mixes to download....... "all sorts" in their own words! Ive posted this on a weekend because I know they'll see it as they literally take No Days Off. That's why I love them!!!

The latest personal project from photographer Clare Shilland in the series entitled "Love From ......" has reached its second incarnation in the name of "Alice" who is a Central St. Martins student cast for her individual nuance in natural style. This muse was shot last year in Östra Lagnöis, Sweden over a series of 5 days in collaboration with Beth Fenton. The images were re-worked into an accompanying publication by graphic designer Wood McGrath all culminating in an exhibition at Saville Row's BStore boutique. The show opened as an installation in-store this week and will be run until the 30th March...........
