Across the continents and capital cities of collections this season, it would seem that coloured hair is consistently cropping up from Jeremy Scott crimps in NYC, to dipped tips at Pringle in London, to Junya Watanabe wet look and Commes Des Garcons asymmetric bowl cuts in Paris. Arguably one of the original experimentalists in the art of colour care was the character "Frenchy" from Grease and Belgian / French designer Charlie Le Mindu has chosen this icon for his "Charl’ De jouy" AW12 muse. In his fashion film directed by Zoe Hitchen, Charlie is flanked by his own Charlie's Angels chorus girls, whilst he combs his quiff and croons to the reimagined beauty-school-drop out Princess Julia. Here are snaps from the shoot, showing stylist Anna Trevelyan and Charlie's millinery collaborator Thomas Petherick behind the scenes of this hilarious and distinctly "Charlie" cinematic venture................... and it's all because he's worth it ............ literally, as the artist has just announced a hair spray to be launched with L'Oreal Professional in May! Zoe's film premiered on a large screen at le Trianon last night with an additional live reenactment and performance from Charlie. Do we detect the rebel wild child of fashion's punk extremities is now preparing to become a pop persona............ who can tell as with all of Charlie's mysterious sartorial subterfuge...........
