Monday 11th April: Bloom'in Marvellous

This year has been a particularly perfect year for full effect blossom. Clouds of picturesque candy floss in the sky always reminds me of the Melvyn Bragg interview with Dennis Potter and his beautiful profound epiphany from looking at the blossom from his window. It was 1994 at the time when he was very ill stuck inside his house. Looking out at this natural wonder made him re-appraise all the preoccupations of every day life:

" It’s the whitest, frothiest blossomest blossom that ever could be, and I can see it. Things are both more trivial than they ever were and more important than they ever were, and the difference between the trivial and the important doesn’t seem to matter. But the now-ness of everything is absolutely wondrous."

(This actually makes me shed a little tear but it's message is a positive one. Live life for the moment, make the most of it and don't get caught up in the negative triviailities of the grander scheme)
