Mon 4th Feb: Paris Fashion Week = Diesel & EDUN's "Studio Africa" with BoilerRoom

I was hyped to find out that there would be a BoilerRoom  night whilst I was in Paris and got very excited to take the Kitty Joseph crew along.  We had no idea that it would be such an epic event!  The BoilerRoom team recently went on a field trip to Cape Town to discover musicians for a South African special season of events with Diesel & EDUN's "Studio Africa" project.  Last night they took over the Gaite Lyrique for a set combining these bands, sound-systems and dance groups.  The energy from the drum beats and contagious spirit of the dancers inspired the crowd to let loose, including Renzo Rosso's roster of guests up in the VIP rafters .  Amongst the likes of Franca Sozzani, Suzy Menkes, Ellen Von Unwerth, John Rocha and Bono, I noted the best movers totally entranced with the magic from the spectacle were Tilda Swinton and Catherine Baba.  This was no regular BoilerRoom session that I'm accustomed to ordinarily in the arch of a train bridge in Hackney!  They pulled off an absolutely amazing night with special vocal slots from Solange Knowles and Little Dragon's Yukimi Nagano ......... in the build up to the finale dj battle between J Rocc b2b KUTMAH ........... which ended on Sister Nancy's Bam Bam ............ the absolute perfect send off to the most perfect and ridiculously fun and out of control party.

Find out how to get tickets to the next Diesel vs. EDUN BoilerRoom "Studio Africa" nights in Tokyo, Berlin, LA and London at their site here.

Listen to Thristian Richards archive show for NTSLive when he returned from the trip here.
