Sunday 16th June: LCM - Alex Mattsson SS14 with Brooke Candy c/o Red Bull Catwalk Studio

London's menswear fashion week (LCM) kicked off last evening with an inherently London style renegade event, challenging conventions of the regular catwalk formula. Designer  Alex Mattsson has been working with Redbull Catwalk Studio again this season, teaming up with a musician in their recording studios to make an exclusive track for a live performance at his show.......... and soundtrack his fashion film.  This season the muse was Brooke Candy who Mattsson referenced in his twist on the classic camo print by lifting her trademark cannabis leaf tattoo and tessellating it into his very own dazzle pattern.  The digital print runs across canvas army style jackets, shirts, shorts and backpacks thru to lightweight silk velvet tees such as this one with his rainbow zion lion emblazoned on the front. Here is a snap of Alex backstage after the show, running me thru the collection and demonstrating the luggage that transforms from a rucksack to a hold-all via a detachable leather harness.  Genius!  The detail of the construction of the multi popper pocketed gilets and variations of bags is exquisite.  Mattsson is stepping it up another level for Spring / Summer 14 - not least for the collection but also the complete presentation package which includes the film shot with Chris Murdoch featuring Brooke in Mattsson womenswear!  The track the duo joined forces on is now available for a free download over on the site so skip over to stream and keep the exclusive new Candy tune!

Friday 14th June: Taller Than Your Average

Last evening Irene Agbontaen held a party at The W Hotel to celebrate the launch of her line "Taller Than Your Average" at Selfridges.  5'11 stylist Irene has developed and designed a range of beautiful basics for beautiful ladies such as herself (and fan Jordan Dunn) to buy maxi dresses that really are floor length on their gorgeous gazelle long legs.  With the average height of females in the UK being 5'6, it's a gap in the market that  Irene has now a-dressed with style. Key looks are desirable garms to equip your whole wardrobe from long tees to staple jersey pieces to smoking hot suits.  Head over to the site's look book to see the full range and then check out Selfridges to snap up a killer sexy body-con split skirt.

Thursday 20th June: Club DKNY

Last evening was one of those rare fashion parties akin to the calibre back in the day when there were budgets and brand's out-did each other with hospitality via creativity to an epic scale.  DKNY took over The Fire Station in Lambeth by commissioning Michael Howells to turn the space into an NYC city street scape complete with flashing neon, burst water mains spraying water, graffiti walls and carts of hot dogs.  Sounds were provided by dj Nick Grimshaw and live performances from Iggy Azalea and Rita Ora w/ Wretch32 .......... there is no photoshop in my snap here - Iggy's bot is really this hot.   Its not often you see Sarah Mower and Vogue editors in the same room as Professor Green on crutches and Zebra Katz in black leathers.  We just needed some kids in tracksuits to throw down a vinyl matt and start body popping with host Cara Delevinge doing the worm and the night would have been complete!
