Saturday 6th October : London Design Festival - Design Junction talk by FranklinTill Studio

On the Friday of London Design Festival I took part in a panel discussion exploring the role of colour in design, curated by FranklinTill Studio (Editor of Viewpoint Colour Magazine).  It began with an introduction to colour trend forecasting by Caro Till who then handed over to guest speakers DVTK who create immersive digital experiences and the food designer Arabeschi di Latte.  Each presentation perfectly complemented the group from such different disciplines but all glued together and guided by colour practice.  Here are snaps of my spectrum outfit lent by Kitty Joseph, Warstylist who attended wearing one of my necklaces and the colourful cocktails concocted for the event by Sweetdram.

Saturday 6th October : London Design Festival - Lubna Chowdhary

When I see something so good, it makes me emosh = Lubna Chowdhary, artist in residence at The V & A Museum.  The ceramicist opened up her studio during London Design Festival for visitors to have a poke around the paraphernalia of her process.  It was the BEST THING I'd seen for very long time and I've seen ALOT!!!!

Saturday 6th October : London Design Festival - Yinka Llori

Out of the four works that Yinka Ilori exhibited for London Design Festival I only managed to get to two!  In addition to installations at The Africa Centre and The Restoration Station, here are snaps from his "Estate Playground" sculpture park at Citizen M Hotel and the Design Salon setting for his symposium at the Now Gallery.  I wish I had more time to have seen them all but there will be another chance to experience his up-cycled cosmic vision at the 1:54 Contemporary African Art Fair this weekend at Somerset House.

Wednesday 28th September: LDF - Patternity at The Ace Hotel

Whilst navigating our way around London to find the Design Festival trail across North, East, West and South we scrambled up an "Ascension" bouldering wall at Ace Hotel!  Patternity designed a gradient pattern for the new installation in the gym which will become a permanent fixture for guests after the event.  The hand-painted hues across the handles and foot-holds celebrate the power of patience and perseverance as part of  Ace's "Ready Made Go 2" project.  It was much tougher than it probably looks here!  I almost had to give up and jump off!  Great fun!

Join Patternity's plant life drawing workshop at The Ace on Oct 11th - book here.
