For SS18 MM6 Maison Margiela took over an empty premises on Floral Street and white-washed the entire thing......... even the bollards outside on the street! Guests to the event could enter and view the collection in an installation or live photoshoot whilst the public could watch models on rotation in the windows. I love how the lettering of the print is carried across the jacket onto the bare skin of the chest.

SS18 London Fashion Week had iridescent branding from the foil on the glass panelling of the venue at 180 The Strand to the printing on the programme. I was in heaven! But the best iridescent moment came when Bjork unveiled the world premiere of her latest music video at a screening with director Andrew Thomas Huang. The fashion film clip "The Gate" focuses on her wearing an iridescent gown made specially for the project by Alessandro Michele at Gucci. Nicola Formichetti's debut runway show launched on schedule at London Fashion Week with his line "Nico Panda" . As a stylist-turned-designer he devised a complete concept from his favourite teenage films and called the collection "The Jock, The Preps, The Punks and The Prom Queen". The tradition of having a bride close the show was taken by Princess Julia who modelled a tulle box pleat gown to the glory of the East London crowd assembled at the Amazon Fashion venue. Nicola has always looked to the future with technology and this is the next venture via a collaboration with the online retailer who started selling the line immediately, straight from the catwalk.
Here are snaps from my latest hair colour for Fashion Week by Tracy Hayes at Fudge, using the Paintbox dye range. I chose an amethyst palette of pinks and purples to match my new Felipe Pantone jacket! Here you can see how Tracy seperates my hair into sections to apply the spectrum of pigment........... and the finished style which hides the hues under my platinum blonde toner.
This season, the official sponsor of London Fashion Week was Sunglasses Hut who offered the chance for visitors to personalise their very own sunglass case, designed by House of Holland, Julie Verhoeven & Kate Moross. Here is Julie at her customisation session onsite in the designer showrooms yesterday. I was lucky enough to get a cosmic rainbow and glitter embellished case which is now more a work of art than an accessory. Incredible! I love fashion week for the freebies but its usually popcorn = I don't think I've ever had something that I can pop in a frame before!! Thank you Sunglasses Hut!!! Cosmic!
Ashish is the latest designer to have a retrospective as part of the V&A Museum's "Fashion In Motion" series of free fashion shows. Its been a decade of the designer's sequin collections coming down the catwalks at London Fashion Week, so a fitting time to dig thru the archives of his workshop in India. The sparkly looks started with silver screen Hollywood sirens in floor-length gowns, gradually shifting to two-piece sportswear separates and even neon hi-vis vests. All set against the glinting gold gilt Raphael Gallery, the metallics shimmered and reflected the spotlights with model and muse Larry B's snake hips sashaying the way.
