Wednesday 25th October: San Francisco Murals & Street Art

I have just returned from a week in San Francisco where I encountered so much colour, every day was a joy.  Just walking around the city was enough entertainment before I even stepped foot in a gallery.  Here are my favourite snaps including the spectrum street crossing of The Castro, a Felipe Pantone wall mural on the way to China Town, some steps and shop-fronts in Haight Ashbury and the rest are probably from the Mission District famous for its painted buildings and alleys of street-art.

Thursday 19th October: Survival Techniques at Atom Gallery

 

After a couple of years since devising Survival Techniques and covering walls of London with inspirational motto murals, Naomi Edmondson now has a solo show at Atom Gallery in Green Lanes.  The gallery is situated above a screen-printing studio where you can view her prints being made ready for the limited edition run in conjunction with the show.  Out the back, she has painted a brand new commission on the side of their exposure unit which you can see in this portrait of the artist at her private view! 

Her archive of works are hung gloriously in one complete story alongside a London map pin-pointing the locations of her large scale street-art.  There is even a suggestion box to add your own Survival Technique to her bank of memos to be used in the future.  If you'd like a hands-on experience painting with Naomi, check out her Cass Arts workshop here. 

Wednesday 27th September: Notting Hill Carnival - Anna Laurini

To round off my Notting Hill Carnival posts for 2017 is a snapshot of street artist Anna Laurini whose profile tag we see all over London but never seen the actual face.  I witness alot whilst cycling around W10 at dawn and absolutely love watching everyone setting up from the food stalls to the soundsystems.  Here is Anna making her contribution to the Grenfell campaign before the streets became full a few hours later.  This is how she does it so secretly and by stealth.  In the early hours and by bike!

Wednesday 23rd August: Craig & Karl's Petrol Station installation

To complete my street-art tour of London's graphic & optical murals, I visited White City where the artists Craig and Karl have brought colour to a derelict petrol Station on Wood Lane.  The pastel pink roof should be replicated in all petrol stations in my opinion!  Obviously its my dream scenario for an instagram-friendly fuel stop!  I spent ages snapping all the different angles of this public artwork in West London.  It's totally magic and I'd love to see more commissions like this over the city!

Wednesday 23rd August: Felipe Pantone for River Island

I’m in LO❤️E with the Felipe Pantone denim collaboration for River Island, bringing one of my favourite artists aesthetic to my wardrobe.  I'm a massive fan of his graphic optical style which graces walls and galleries across the world.  I went for a mini street-art tour of London to get the best backdrop to snap the graphic applique jacket. Here I am surrounded by public art from Lakwena in Carnaby Street (top) and Morag Myerscough at Battersea Power Station. I accessorized the white look with a Keith Haring tote from Uniqlo and ASICS Gel Lyte III trainers.

Weds 19th October: Stance Street Art Run in Paris

So far the European Street-Art Run series has taken me on guided tours of London, Copenhagen and now Paris.  Here are snaps from the trip which ended up as an after-party at Favela Chic hosted by Charlie Dark, founder of RunDemCrew AND newly announced ambassador for Stance!
