Monday 18th December: My headpiece for Donna Wilson's magazine "Make Your Own"

Earlier in the year Donna Wilson asked me to invent a step-by-step guide to a headpiece for her magazine "Make Your Own".  The 2nd issue is out this week for Christmas packed with projects, interviews and inspiration from lots of different artists and designers working in different mediums.    Here are the images from my spread and a sneak peak of a page from the final edition in print.  You'll have to buy the actual physical copy to get your hands on my breakdown of how to create this cosmic iridescent crown!

Order a copy here or visit her pop-up shop on Columbia Road.

Thursday 9th November: Bethan Wood's "Toothpaste" SS18 collection for Valextra

Many congratulations to Bethan Wood on her collaboration with Italian luxury accessories label Valextra.  The product designer has worked with the Milanese brand to develop a collection called "Toothpaste" which uses a signature of swirls on both the hardware fittings of handles and clasps to the patterns in the leather panel seaming.  Sections can be popped off via magnetic fastenings and used as separate smaller clutches and pocket-books.  Here you can see Bethan holding one of these detachable components.
The expansive range of styles and colour-ways first launched in Milan and is following on from London to Tokyo where Bethan will be travelling for the event.  See more via her Instagram here.

Monday 29th May: Paper Flower, Summer Headdress Workshop at No. 56

Here are shots from my Paper Flower, Summer Headdress Workshop at No. 56 where a special elderflower cocktail was on the menu for the night "Fly Freddys Flower Fizz" ! I taught the basic principals of paper folding which were then put to the test in making feathers, leaves and flowers. The same principal for one bloom translates to other varieties which we constructed from ranunculus to rose via daises and Chrysanthemum. The whole spectrum of papers were used to mix'n'match everyone's own headdress to take away and develop.

Thanks so much to the beautiful venue of No. 56 for hosting the event, thank you to all who came to take part and thank you to Mitchell McGillvary for capturing it!

Monday 8th August: Port Eliot Festival 2016 via Rosy Nicholas

Now that Rosy Nicholas book has officially hit the shelves, she has begun spreading the word with a stint at this year's Port Eliot literary festival in the workshop tents.  Alongside designers Stephen Jones, Piers Atkinson, Ed Marler & Molly Goddard, she was on hand to help festival-goers turn their civvies into festival couture.  Here are her snaps from the weekend and her book from which you can also teach yourself how to make her accessories!
