Basically my perfect wardrobe with these monochromatic looks, quilting and ties.  SO IN LOVE with Craig Green.  Again.  Again and again.  

Sunday 14th June: LCM SS16 - Alex Mullins: Bon Mirage, Foam Party

The collection may have been called "Foam Party" but the play on words in the playful set design was piles of upholstery sponge but evidence of bubbles floating around were the spherical pockets.  This motif of SS16 was absolutely gorgeous in the neutral tone twill suits as worn by the designer himself on the day.  My favourite thing about Alex's brand is the bold crossover into fine-art technique which is so fresh and so free.  There is a sense of some other designers playing safe and sticking to reproducing easy pieces to please buyers, so it's a delight to look at these hand-painted details.   Just look at this Breton knit with inked in lines - brilliant! 

Sunday 14th June: LCM SS16 - Mr Hare: "The People's Democratic Republic Of The Future"

My favourite show so far has come from Mr Hare unveiling his first Ready To Wear collection to compliment the cult footwear, with a complete vision from top to toe.  The presentation also included a projection of a cosmic fashion film, spectrum light installation, screen print artworks, and take-away pin-badge momentos.  Everything was on point with the styling & casting from Harris Elliott, following the teams collaboration on his Rudeboy exhibition last year.  

The line will be on view at Bastille Design Center for their Paris Showroom June 26th - July 2nd.

Lou Dalton opened London Collections: Men today, the show had an integrity that is all too often overlooked in fashion. Lou referenced where she came from recalling the farm hands and the real working clothes they wore, the choice to reference something so personal resulted in a collection thats subtle nuances clarified why she has become a cornerstone of the fledgling men's fashion week. There is an attention to detail and a concentration on the execution of both the garments and her ideas that help produce something very relevant and desirable. It's the width of a collar, the silhouette of a coat, the way the trouser is cut shorter so it just skims the top of the boot that all enhance her reputation as a designer, with not only brilliant ideas but an intelligent one, that truly considers the form, fit and the invidiual aesthetic of each seperate. It is refreshing in a city obsessed with the obseleting the previous season to see Lou Dalton building a solid brand identity, there's a great sense of integrity in that.
